The hiatus of Black Wreath (funeral doom metal) and the\u00a0otium of Chasing Eudaimonia \/ Eudamonia\u00a0Collective (psychedelic drone) has allowed Dave M\u00fcller to\u00a0explore new musical directions.\u00a0Unlike any other of M\u00fcller\u2019s projects,\u00a0Tidebound\u00a0has its very roots\u00a0in folk music,\u00a0but\u00a0the inspirations that paved the way for his other projects still shine through. These are songs of lost love and hope, distressful desolation, yearning for freedom and the acceptance of solitude; themes not uncommon to the folk genre, but the\u00a0sometimes\u00a0hazy\u00a0vocals and the underlying psychedelic instrumentation give\u00a0Tidebound\u00a0a sound of its own. In other words: if\u00a0Stephen Burch (The Great Park) and Townes Van\u00a0Zandt\u00a0went to the funeral of Jason Molina on their honeymoon and Aron\u00a0was set to play\u00a0at the wake,\u00a0Tidebound would still be a psychedelic folk band from Copenhagen.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00fcller has been active in the Danish underground music scene for years, but takes on the role of sole songwriter and vocalist for the first time, making\u00a0Tidebound\u00a0a highly personal project.\u00a0The melodic nature of the songs and\u00a0introspective\u00a0lyrics evoke feelings that range somewhere between melancholy and pessimistic hopefulness.
